溶解性：易溶于乙醇、乙醚、氯仿，微溶于水，在沸水中溶解。

化學性質
常溫下穩定。急劇加熱分解為苯酚和二氧化碳。具有部分酸的通性。
本品刺激皮膚、黏膜,因能與機體組織中的蛋白質發生反應,所以有腐蝕作用。能使角膜增殖后剝離。其毒性比苯酚弱,但大量服用能引起嘔吐、腹瀉、頭痛、出汗、皮疹、呼吸頻促、酸中毒癥和興奮。 [2] 外觀白色粉末，允許略帶黃色和粉紅色
