生長激素釋放因子是由丘腦下部、腦下垂體神經(jīng)分泌系統(tǒng)產(chǎn)生，是從正中隆起所分泌的多肽，它直接刺激腺性腦下垂體的生長激素（GH）分泌細(xì)胞抑制GH的分泌。生長抑素抑制能夠調(diào)節(jié)胃腸道多種其他激素的釋放，具有很強(qiáng)的生理功能。生長抑素也抑制促甲狀腺激素的產(chǎn)生。

Growth hormone releasing factor is produced by the neurosecretory system of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. It is a polypeptide secreted from the median bulge. It directly stimulates the growth hormone (GH) secreting cells of the glandular pituitary gland to inhibit the secretion of GH. Somatostatin inhibition can regulate the release of many other hormones in the gastrointestinal tract and has strong physiological functions. Somatostatin also inhibits the production of thyroid-stimulating hormone.
