該品分子中具有與羰基共軛的雙鍵和富有反應性的羥甲基，是用途廣泛的交聯性單體，用于纖維的改性、樹脂加工、粘合劑及紙張、皮革、金屬表面的處理劑，還可用于土壤改良劑等。
可作交聯劑，廣泛用于纖維的改性樹脂、加工染料、塑料粘合劑制成乳液膠黏劑及熱固化丙烯酸涂料；與丙烯酰胺的共聚物，可用作防水劑、阻燃劑等。與棉纖維縮合，可防止織物皺折，提高抗污性。

It is a crosslinking monomer widely used in fiber modification, resin processing, adhesives and treating agents for paper, leather and metal surface. It can also be used as soil modifier.
It can be used as crosslinking agent, widely used in the modification of fiber resin, processing dyes, plastic adhesives to make emulsion adhesives and heat-cured acrylic coatings. The copolymer with acrylamide can be used as waterproof agent, flame retardant, etc. Condensation with cotton fiber can prevent the fabric from wrinkling and improve the dirt resistance.
